Ohio Street Beach
Chicago’s Ohio Street Beach is popular for the long stretch of swimming area that runs along the path and features bike rentals, beach chair rentals, and food vendors.
Located at 400 N. Lakeshore Drive across from the famous Lake Point Tower Condominium Building as well as the W Hotel Lakeshore, Ohio Street Beach is popular for the long stretch of swimming area that runs along the path. Many people come here to practice open-water swimming for triathlons or just general exercise. Ohio Street Beach features bike rentals, beach chair rentals, and food vendors. In front of Ohio Street Beach is the area known as The Playpen. In the summer many boaters flock to this area inside the breaker walls to tether their boats to each other and things often turn into a large party. People also flock to this beach each August for the annual Chicago Air and Water show, the largest of it's kind in the US.
